Primary Medical Cert, Revenue Expert

Q: Do I have to spend 10% of the value of my car on adapting it.

A: There is no minimum-spending requirement for drivers; there is however a minimum requirement for passenger claims, of 10% of the net price of the vehicle. Net price is the cost of the car after VRT and Vat is deducted.  Second Time passenger claims see bellow.

Q: Do I have to spend 10% on adapting my car every time I change my car?

A: No.  If you received a primary medical certificate grant on your current car you can transfer the equipment from the old car to the new.  The money you spend on the previous car adaption is applied to the 10% requirement for the new car. For this reason it is important that you get good advice particularly when buying your adaption as the piece of equipment may be with you over many vehicles.
